                                                                                                                                        Semester registration fee: $10/student (ages 5+), limit $30/family, a building fee to pay or donate to the building for their utilities and supply costs. Each class or club may have a supply fee, which covers the entire semester as well.  You must first join REACH ($15 per year per family) in order to register for co-op. Parents are required to assist in some way during each class hour that their student(s) attend, No drop offs.

Fall 2017  Schedule: Wednesdays

10:00 – 10:50 am Class Descriptions

Tot time for birth to age 4
Come play with us! We will play with toys, read stories, play games, dance to music and have arts and crafts while older siblings attend classes. If weather permits, we will play on the playground.

Class maximum: 18
Cost: $5 per semester for age 18 months and up, for arts and crafts supplies. Infants are free.
Parents will need to bring snacks for their child (ren) and a bottle or cup as well as adequate diapers/pull ups or change of clothes if new to using the potty.
Two or more adults will be in the room at all times-Parents will rotate weekly/hourly.
We will separate the infants into another room if needed.

Fun with Cooking age 5-10
We will be learning very basic and simple, food making and preparing techniques(minimal “cooking”) and we will be making snacks, some dessert treats and maybe some mini-meal type foods etc.

Magazine class  age 8+ — 2nd and 4th weeks
This class will teach about the role of an Entrepreneur and how to create, write, and publish your own magazine. Learn the business of having your own magazine while writing articles to be published in an online youth magazine!!

I own my own magazine, Authentically You Magazine, and my daughter is launching a youth magazine, Be Weird, Be True, Be You. The youth can learn about writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and promoting in the business of a Magazine and also write articles to be published in the magazine.

All ages PE  weekly, or 1st/3rd weeks opposite Magazine class
We will learn a bit about various sports as well as different exercise methodologies and will try them out, in a rotation but we will be getting physical activity weekly. We will include kickball, basketball, softball/teeball, volleyball, badminton, yoga, Zumba, cardio/aerobic, strength training/conditioning
*** HS credit can be given for the older ones, (MS–HS) with the commitment to weekly take-home activity or worksheet etc, as well as some extra physical activity responsibilities and charting.

Cooking for your life age 10+
We will discuss food nutritional basics and cooking measurements. We will learn different cooking tools and their uses. We will prep and cook meals. We will learn to read lables and what they mean. We will learn to set a table the right way. and will have fun and laughs while we learn.

Controversial issues: we’ll be using knives and working around the stove.

Teen book club age 13+ 1st and 3rd  weeks
Students will choose a book from the available library sets, or propose a book, to be approved by the teacher and admins. The teens will discuss the books at the book club meetings.

STEM age 12+  2nd and 4th weeks
STEM class with a primary focus of hands on activities including labs in chemistry, biology and engineering. The class will primarily be for children 12+ but exceptions will be made for children who can follow proper lab safety.

World Geography age 13+
We will learn the continents, countries–where they are on the map, and locating them. We will learn about the things within them-historical significances, the cultures of them and the people, that make them up, the climate and the resources,natural, and otherwise.
We’ll identify the Earths significant physical characteristics, evaluate how these physical features affect people and analyze if any of thesegeographic features may affect your life or how.
Identify strategies to simplify your study of the Earth.

Lego club age 4-12
Build a Lego masterpiece based on the educational theme of the week. We will have an optional Show and Tell in the last 15 minutes of class followed by clean-up. Must supply your own optional creation board.

KIDS game playing time or creativity time! We will have the availability of a variety of board and card and dice games, as well as many art & craft supplies to get creative and crafty with!
