REACH would like to provide you with the resources you need to have a successful and fulfilling Homeschooling experience.  There are many ways you can tap into the Resources available to you as a member of REACH.  Below are some very useful links.

  • REACH Lending Library - REACH has various books, videos and equipment available for loan to our members.
 
  • REACH the TOP - the Third-option group available exclusively to REACH members.

  • REACH Community Chest   If you are in need of curriculum resources but cannot obtain them on your own due to financial need, we may be able to help!  (donations gladly accepted!!)


Resources available to all homeschoolers



  • Local Area Classes and Offerings - resources available for homeschoolers in the Columbia area in the following categories: Fine arts, Sports, and Special Events.  This page is always changing so check it often!


  • Just for Fun-  REACH's own page listing seasonal links to fun pages and activities.


  • SCHEA - http://www.schomeeducatorsassociation.org/ .SCHEA was formed in 1987 to support home educators in South Carolina and to perform a lead role to create legal protection for home education in SC. SCHEA, working with many other concerned individuals and organizations, was instrumental in convincing the state legislature to create the first SC law requiring recognition of home schooling in 1988.  Today volunteer homeschoolers from across the state continue to work through SCHEA to create opportunities and support to the home school community in SC.   • The SC State Museum http://www.museum.state.sc.us/education/LessonsAtGlance.html offers "Homeschool Fridays" on the 3rd Friday of each month, as well as many classes and overnight camp-ins that can be made available by request for our group.  See their website for full details or call 803-898-4999

  • The Columbia Museum of Art http://www.columbiamuseum.org/ offers the "One Room Schoolhouse" - monthly art classes for ages 4-12.  View the schedule and fees on their website.  Pre-registration is required for all classes.

  • Saluda Shoals park offers educational classes for all grade levels.  Classes must be scheduled ahead of time and a fee is charged.

  • EdVenture Children's Museum http://www.edventure.org/home.asp Opening in November 2003, EdVenture is setting aside every Thursday from 2:00 - 3:30 pm just for homeschoolers.  Classes and field trips are also available by reservation.  There is a fee for admission and classes.
