[/vc_column_text][vc_tabs interval=”0″][vc_tab tab_id=”1434564383-1-29″ title=”What is Co-op?”][vc_column_text]The REACH Co-op provides a venue for parent-led classes, discussion groups, and clubs. Kids (and parents!) get a chance to socialize and share the fun of learning. Older kids can especially benefit as committing to a class teaches them time management and personal responsibility.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

  • Registration fee is $10 per student (K5 and up) each semester, with a cap of $30 in registration fees per family each semester, regardless of the number of classes taken or the duration of the class(es). Tot time is available for younger siblings age 4 and under. This money is donated to the host facility to defray their overhead expenses.  REACH does not receive any proceeds from the co-op. (Note: REACH membership is $15/family. Co-op is an add-on option for REACH members. Only REACH members may register for our co-op classes.)
  • Co-op is not a drop-off program. Parents are responsible for supervising their own children, or if necessary, for arranging supervision with another attending parent. We want to buddy up and support each other.
  • Students and teachers who are involved in other co-ops are welcome. To avoid conflict, however, we ask that teachers not be on the administrative boards of other co-operative education groups.
  • Teachers submit a class description  to the REACH admin team that describes the materials being used, grading procedures, teaching style, world view, etc. that will allow parents to choose classes best suited for their students.
  • Co-op participants subscribe to the Co-op Facebook group to keep up to date on weekly announcements. Interested in teaching or organizing a class? Have materials, but need a co-teacher or parent volunteers? We can network!

We recommend you save the PDF for future reference.

For Teachers: Use the Co-op Class/Club Proposal form to submit a class for scheduling. We have multiple classrooms available, so classes can be scheduled concurrently, especially those for different age groups. Please be aware that we may need to juggle class times for room availability or to allow for maximum participation.
